POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW POSITION, UNIV. OF PITTSBURGH School of Medicine A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in the Zhang laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh to study HIV capsid protein and host cell partner interactions using cryoEM methods. We are one of the three NIH funded centers for structural determination of HIV/Host complexes (http://www2.structbio.pitt.edu/hivppi/site/), and this position is supported by the center grant.
Motivated candidate with strong interest in cryo-electron microscopy of complex molecular assemblies and solid background in structural biology, biophysics, biochemistry or a related field are all encouraged to apply. Research experience in the following area(s) is plus: 1) HREM or cryo-EM, 2) image processing and/or 3) protein biochemistry/biophysics. Interested candidates should send an application, including a CV, areas of expertise and interests, publications list, and names and contact information for 3 references to Dr. Peijun Zhang 2050 BST3 Dept. of Structural Biology Univ. of Pittsburgh School of Medicine 3501 5th Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15260 [email protected] Our laboratory is within the newly established Dept. of Structural Biology, fully equipped for all aspects of molecular biology and protein biochemistry and has direct access to FEI Polara 300kv with helium stage, TF20 FEG, both with high-resolution 4kx4k CCD cameras, T12spirit with 2kx2k camera, and FEI vitrobot.
