The molecular and biochemistry laboratory is integrated in the structural biology projects of the outstation. The lab is equipped for protein production, purification, crystallization and functional analysis. We are looking for a RESEARCH TECHNICIAN to work in the newly established group of Rob Meijers for the development and maintenance of eukaryotic expression systems. The group is focussed on cell surface receptors involved in the immune and nervous system. The post will involve the production of medically relevant proteins for structural biology, the maintenance of lab equipment and the support of other members of the lab. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a bachelor or master degree in a relevant field (biology or related disciplines). Working experience in molecular biology and biochemistry is required. Previous experience with large scale protein expression and purification in eukaryotic systems will be considered advantageous. Project management experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other research teams is essential. Good knowledge of desktop software applications and fluency in English is mandatory, German language skills are desirable. Contract An initial contract of 3 years will be offered to the successful candidate. This can be renewed, depending on circumstances at the time of review.
