The following opportunity exists in our South San Francisco, CA, headquarters: Scientist/Senior Scientist - X-Ray Crystallographer Responsibilities: We are seeking an accomplished Scientist/Senior Scientist to join the Genentech Structural Biology department as an X-ray crystallographer. The successful candidate will be expected to run an innovative independent research program as well as collaborate with small molecule and antibody drug discovery teams to generate novel therapeutics for unmet medical needs. Responsibilities will include construct design, data collection in-house and at synchrotrons and structure determination of proteins and protein/ligand complexes. The incumbent will be an integral member of project teams and will interact with medicinal and computational chemists to design new small molecule compounds and will collaborate as a structural biologist with scientists throughout the Research organization. Requirements: Candidates must have a PhD in Structural Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry or related discipline as well as relevant postdoctoral experience. Candidates with demonstrated success in academia or industry will also be considered. Applicants must have a record of sustained productivity as evidenced by publications in top journals and/or additional documented contributions to drug discovery such as patent filings.
