Two new NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are immediately open in the
laboratory of Dr. Yizhi Jane Tao at Rice University, Houston, TX, USA. The
project is to study the structure and function of the RNA virus replication
machinery using X-ray crystallography and other biochemical and biophysical
methods. Successful applicants are expected to be highly motivated
individuals with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, structural biology, or other
related disciplines. Prior experiences with recombinant protein expression
and purification are preferred.

Our laboratory is equipped with excellent in-house X-ray diffraction
facility together with a crystal screening robot and imaging system. Rice
University is a private institution located right next to the Texas Medical
Center, the home of 47 institutions including Texas Children's Hospital, MD
Anderson Cancer Center and the Baylor College of Medicine. Houston is a
large metropolitan city that offers both cultural diversity and low cost of
living.
