Two new NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are immediately open in the laboratory of Dr. Yizhi Jane Tao at Rice University, Houston, TX, USA. The project is to study the structure and function of the RNA virus replication machinery using X-ray crystallography and other biochemical and biophysical methods. Successful applicants are expected to be highly motivated individuals with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, structural biology, or other related disciplines. Prior experiences with recombinant protein expression and purification are preferred.
Our laboratory is equipped with excellent in-house X-ray diffraction facility together with a crystal screening robot and imaging system. Rice University is a private institution located right next to the Texas Medical Center, the home of 47 institutions including Texas Children's Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Baylor College of Medicine.
