A crystallography postdoctoral position in RNA Biology is available immediately in the lab of Prof. Ailong Ke at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA. Related research projects will employ integrated approaches to understand the structure and function of RNA and RNA-protein complexes. The lab is interested in two main research areas: 1. structure and working mechanism of macromolecular machines in the eukaryotic RNA processing and degradation; 2. Structure and conformation dynamics of important RNA and RNA-protein complexes. Please check Nat Struct Mol Biol. 2008 Oct;15(10):1076-83, and Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2007 Oct 23;104(43):16844-9 for representative publications. The lab has extensive crystallographic resources, including regular access to synchrotron beamlines at the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) on campus.

Candidates should have (or expect) a Ph.D. or M.D. and should have experience in protein purification, crystallization, and structure determination.
