A postdoctoral position focusing on structural and functional basis of cation-coupled symport is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Lan Guan in the Department of Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Lubbock, TX. The Guan Lab combines genetic, structural, biochemical, and biophysical methods to investigate the mechanism of cation/solute coupling involved in sugar transport. The laboratory is well equipped with state-of–the-art equipment for biochemical and structural studies. More information is available at http://www.ttuhsc.edu/SOM/physiology/faculty/Guan/guan.aspx .

The position offers ideal opportunities for an earlier-stage postdoctoral fellow to develop and/or complement his/her experimental skills and knowledge in the field of membrane protein structure and dynamics. The Department of Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics and the Center for Membrane Protein Research at TTUHSC provide a rich environment for interactive and collaborative work. Highly motivated Ph. D. graduates with a strong interest in sugar transporter and training in molecular biology and membrane protein biochemistry are encouraged to apply. Interested candidates should send a CV and contact information for three references to Dr. Guan by e-mail ([email protected] ) or through TTUHSC website (http://jobs.texastech.edu), requisition #81679. TTUHSC is an EEO/AA Employer.
