It should just work.
(This is the non-python version, if you want some "fun", try compiling
python 2.6 on OpenSuse 11.3 either 1) without the system readline or 2)
with a "by-hand" installed readline. Grrr... wretched thing - the only
people who like python are the ones who don't have to compile it...
