Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce the EMBO|EMBL Symposium:
Structure and Dynamics of Protein Networks, 13 - 16 October 2011 Please visit the conference website: http://www.embo-embl-symposia.org. The symposium will take place in Heidelberg, Germany at the EMBL Advanced Training Centre. Abstract submission deadline: 14 August 2011 Registration deadline: 4 September 2011 Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The aim of the symposium is to explore the possible synergisms and cross-talk between the large-scale and classical approaches to biological networks. It will bring together leading structural and cell biologists with leading scientists from the “OMICS” field to discuss scientific issues arising at the interface of these complementary fields. Possible avenues to populate current networks with dynamics and mechanistic insights that will ensure high levels of biological understanding and contribute to deciphering fundamental principles will be reviewed and investigated. Speakers include: Patrick Aloy, Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Spain Chris Bakal, The Institute of Cancer Research, United Kingdom Philippe Bastiaens, MPI for Molecular Physiology, Germany Martin Beck, EMBL, Germany John Briggs, EMBL, Germany Iain Cheeseman, Whitehead Institute and Department of Biology, MIT, USA Suzanne Gaudet, Harvard Medical School, USA Anne-Claude Gavin, EMBL, Germany Marko Kaksonen, EMBL, Germany Tanja Kortemme, University of California, San Francisco, USA Ben Lehner, CRG Centre for Genomic Regulation, Spain François Nédélec, EMBL, Germany Garry Nolan, Stanford School of Medicine, USA Lucas Pelkmans, University of Zurich, Switzerland Natasa Przulj, Imperial College London, United Kingdom Aurelien Roux, University of Geneva, Switzerland Philip Selenko, Leibniz Institute of Molecular Pharmacology (FMP Berlin), Germany Giulio Superti-Furga, Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Austria Jussi Taipale, University of Helsinki, Finland Eva Wolf, MPI of Biochemistry, Germany Marino Zerial, MPI of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Germany Keynote Speakers Tom Kirchhausen, Harvard Medical School/CBRI, USA Peter Wright, The Scripps Research Institute, USA You are welcome to circulate this announcement to interested members and groups within your institute. EMBO | EMBL Symposia provide a platform to discuss and exchange ideas on forward-looking topics and new developments in the life sciences. Jointly organised by EMBO and EMBL - and complementary to their respective courses and conference programmes - the symposia promote scientific communication and collaboration in Europe. Up to six symposia are planned annually and each symposium will be held in the 450-seat auditorium of the new EMBL Advanced Training Centre (ATC) in Heidelberg, Germany.
