Postdoctoral Fellow
Protein Crystallography at SLS
Your tasks
As part of the development of next generation micro-crystallography at the
undulator beamline X06SA, you will be involved in micro-focussing optics and
micro-diffractometer upgrades. You will also be responsible for conceiving and
implementing novel crystallographic data acquisition and analysis tools to
exploit the full potential of new beamline optics, advanced pixel-array
detector, and automation. You will work with experienced synchrotron scientists
and will interact with user groups as a local contact at the MX-beamlines. In
addition, you will conduct your own structural biology research in
collaboration with PSI internal and external partners.
Your profile
You hold a PhD degree in physics or (bio-) chemistry, and have several years of
experience in protein crystallography. Competence in X-ray optics, synchrotron
beamline instrumentation and automation would be a significant advantage. If
you are a good team player with fine communication skills and sense of
responsibility, this position will offer a great opportunity for you to develop
your research career in an exciting and highly multidisciplinary environment.
