Post-doctoral position: structural studies of nucleotides carriers

Location: IBS, Grenoble, France
Starting date of the contract: latest 1^st of December 2011

A post-doctoral position is available to join the group of Pr. E. Pebay-Peyroula at IBS (Institut de Biologie Structurale, Grenoble, France). The group explores functional and structural aspects of membrane proteins mainly focussing on nucleotides transporters.

The research emphasis is in deciphering atomic details of these proteins combining X-crystallography with functional assays, biophysical characterizations, molecular dynamics simulations, spectroscopy and microscopy techniques.

The candidate should hold a PhD in biochemistry, structural biology or related discipline. Outstanding applicants have experience in crystallisation and crystallography. Experience in working with membrane proteins will be advantageous.

The laboratory is well located in a structural biology environment at the Polygone Scientifique in Grenoble. Access to the synchrotron (ESRF), to electron microscopy, to NMR facilities and to modern biophysical instrumentation (analytical ultracentrifugation, surface plasmon resonance, dynamic light scattering, isothermal calorimetry, CD and fluorescence spectrometers) is provided.

The position is available immediately and has to be filled latest on the 1st of December 2011.

Applications are only considered from candidates with no more than five years of research experience including PhD and who have notresided in France the last years.

If you are interested in joining our team at IBS, please send your CV and the
names (and emails) of at least two referees to Pr. Eva Pebay-Peyroula
([email protected]) and Dr. Stephanie Ravaud ([email protected]).
