The laboratory, in the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB), uses structural biology techniques to study 1) how the power generated from actin-filament polymerization is harnessed by biological processes, 2) the breadth of structures and dynamics that are formed by diverse bacterial actin-like filament systems, and 3) how these structures may be interfered with in the search for novel drug candidates.
