NIST/NRC Postdoctoral Position Available in Structural Biophysics in Maryland, USA
A postdoctoral position is available at the Institute for Bioscience & Biotechnology Research located in Rockville, Maryland, USA (http://www.ibbr.umd.edu/). This position will investigate how N-linked glycosylation of the interleukin-7 receptor affects its binding to interleukin-7 relative to the unglycosylated receptor. The enhanced binding affinity of the glycosylated receptor to interleukin-7 is allosteric in nature, that is, the N-glycans do not participate directly in the binding interface. A biophysical approach using surface plasmon resonance, circular dichroism, fluorescence, and calorimerty will be employed. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry or a related field, with experience in molecular biology, protein expression and purification. Prior experience in biophysical techniques and insect cell culture is preferred. NIST/NRC postdoctoral positions must be US citizens and more information can be found at http://www.nist.gov/iaao/postdoc.cfm. For further information and interest please contact Dr. Scott Walsh (email: [email protected] or phone: (240) 314-6478).
