A postdoctoral position is available at the Laboratory of Structural Biology and Biophysics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, EPFL). Research topic: Structure and function of large, multicomponent biological macromolecular complexes such as the bacterial type VI secretion system (T6SS), R-type pyocins, and selected tailed bacterial viruses (bacteriophages). Research methods: A hybrid approach involving a combination of X-ray crystallography, electron microscopy, bioinformatics, and microbiology/molecular biology. Required skills: Experience in all aspects of X-ray crystallography, strong publication record, some teaching experience. Teaching duties: About 2 academic hours per week during autumn and spring semesters. Duration: The contract is renewable every year for up to 5 years.
