*Responsibilities:*
*GENERAL SUMMARY:*
Functioning very independently and under the very general direction of
principal investigator and collaborators, the Research Specialist performs
high level, complex research experiments. On a regular basis, contributes
to scientific literature, reports, journals and presentations and
investigates, creates, and develops new methods and technologies for
research advancement.
*PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
1. Must be able to travel to perform specific duties at offsite facilities.
2. Researches, develops, designs, executes and interprets research
experiments pertaining to all aspects of resolving crystal structures.
3. Contributes to scientific literature, reports, journals and
presentations.
4. Investigates, creates, and develops new methods and technologies for
research advancement.

*Requirements:*
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
Ph.D. preferred. MS degree or equivalent education in scientific field of
research.
Five to seven years of direct research experience.
*SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:*
• Strong research design and analytical skills.
• Strong database statistical skills.
• In-depth knowledge of macromolecular crystallography/structural biology
and all related aspects.
• Direct experience with various synchrotron beamlines
• Excellent time management/organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
