We seek for a highly motivated Ph.D.-student willing to learn eagerly and
contribute with an enthusiastic, collaborative and creative attitude to our
Macromolecular Structural Biology research. The technical skills acquired
by the student during the PhD will encompass cloning, heterologous
overexpression, purification, biochemical characterization, crystallization
and crystal structure determination by X-ray diffraction methods. During
the development of the project, electron microscopy and further biophysical
and biochemical methods will be also considered in order to better
characterise the proteins under study and their complexes.

The candidate should have a degree obtained less than two years ago in
Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, and Chemistry or related, which entitles
him/her to embark on a Ph.D. A Master in Structural Biology would be
desirable. The candidate should have EU-citizenship.

Interested candidates can have more information about our projects, which
are basically related to mitochondrial proteins and mitochondrial DNA
regulation, at

The lab is located at the premises of the Science Park Barcelona,
www.pcb.ub.edu.

Interested candidates should send as soon as possible an e-mail with their
CV together with a motivated letter, contact details of two referees and
