*Postdoctoral and Research Assistant (2 positions) in Structural Biology
at Zewail City for Science and Technology*
Zewail City is initiating a research program in Biophysics and
Structural Biology focusing on protein and nucleic acid structure and
nucleic acid-protein and nucleic acid-small molecule interactions. The
Center invites applications for two positions.
We are seeking applicants with a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a basic science and
more than one year's laboratory experience for a Research Assistantship
position. The candidate should have a strong background in Physics
and/or Chemistry or a related field. Lab experience in Biochemistry or
Molecular Biology is a plus.The candidate will participate in research
projects involving interactions between nucleic acids and small
molecules and/or proteins.
The second position is for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area
of Structural Biology and ligand-protein and ligand-RNA interactions.
Candidates should have a Ph. D. in Biochemistry or a related field, with
a proven track record at all stages of protein or nucleic acid structure
determination by X-ray Crystallography, from sample preparation to
crystallization, to structure refinement. Experience with Biophysical
methods, such as Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), is preferred. An
interest in Drug Discovery is a plus.
