Dear all, I am a new starter in the membrane protein field and working with the cell free expression system. As the really small amount of protein I could get in hand, I got somehow stuck in the quantification of the protein yield. so Is there any suggestion of any methods or reagents suitable for quantifying small amount of membrane protein with detergents or lipids? Before, I used spectrum meter to see Abs280 while the reaction was scaled up to 200ul, but mostly I was playing around 25-50ul reactions and could only detected my proteins from western blot.
