POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. 
Jung-Ja Kim at the Department of Biochemistry, Medical College of Wisconsin 
(MCW).  The current research of the laboratory focuses on 1) 
Structure-Mechanism of membrane-bound enzymes involved in fatty acid metabolism 
and 2) interactions between NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase and its electron 
transfer partners, including cytochromes P450. For more information, please

The successful candidate will be an individual with strong background in 
protein biochemistry, molecular biology, and structural biology.  Training in 
X-ray crystallography is preferred but not required.

The Structural Biology Group at MCW has extensive crystallographic resources, 
including an R-AXIS IV++ /MicroMax-007 system, and a Hamilton liquid handing 
robot and a Phenix crystallization robot. In addition, MCW is an associate 
member of the Life Sciences Collaborative Access Team (LS-CAT) at the Advanced 
Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne, IL), which is located 
within an hour drive of MCW.

The Medical College of Wisconsin (http://www.mcw.edu) is the largest private 
research institution in Wisconsin. In addition to a strong core of basic 
biomedical science departments, the Medical College is home to nine 
internationally and federally designated Centers of Biomedical Research. The 
College is conveniently located in suburban Milwaukee and is 8 miles west of 
Lake Michigan with easy access to surrounding communities, lakes, and parks.
