Dear all, I am currently recruiting for a Research Assistant/PhD position in my lab at Newcastle. The project involves studying the molecular basis of chromosome synapsis and genetic exchange during mammalian meiosis, principally through X-ray crystallography and biophysics. I am looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will study and complete their PhD with me whilst employed as a Research Assistant. An undergraduate degree (or preferably masters) in biochemistry or related subject would be expected, along with experience of research in a biochemistry or structural biology laboratory. The position is tenable for five years, with a starting salary of £26,274. The closing date for applications is 21st September 2014.
