Dear BB,

I realise this isn’t a CCP4 (or even crystallography) related topic, however
such is the vast and widely experienced nature of the community I thought this
might be a good place to start. We have had our AutoITC200 system in place for
around one year now (upgraded from the manual system) and whilst we are
generally happy, the instrument does seem to have required a greater than
expected amount of maintenance and several service visits. As we’re
approaching the end of the warranty period, and in the process of negotiating
service contracts, I wanted to get some feedback from anyone who owns or has
access to one of these instruments to see if their experience has been similar
to ours.

To be specific, we have experienced issues with the syringe arm coming slightly
out of alignment with the cell (which seems to result in baseline noise and
premature termination of a series of experiments). Also, we experience greater
than usual evaporation from the reference cell, though this may well be
specific to us since the room it is currently located in has been experiencing
air-con problems (our building maintenance are looking into it).

If anyone has experienced similar or even totally unrelated issues, and
particularly any solved problems, then I’d be very interested to hear from you.

Since this is specific to a single product, I’d appreciate it if any responses
could be posted off-list. I’ll be happy to provide any collated feedback on an
individual basis.

Thanks and best regards,

Andrew
