Dear All

The BCA stand will be returning to the Big Bang Fair at the Birmingham NEC from
the 11th-14th March 2015. The Big Bang Fair is the UK's biggest science and
engineering event for school groups and families with over 75,000 visitors
attending every year. Over the last few years we have had a very successful
stand entertaining visitors using sweets, marbles, lego, microscopes and much
more in order to explain crystallography and its uses. We are looking forward
to repeating this success at the next Big Bang Fair, but we need you to make it
happen!

Whether you are a seasoned outreach volunteer or a newcomer to the
crystallography stand, this is a great way to promote crystallography and gain
experience talking to the public about what you do. We are looking for people
from all areas of crystallography so that we can highlight just how diverse our
science is. So, if you would like to volunteer and have some fun promoting
crystallography please email
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> with
your available dates. The deadline for volunteer applications is Monday 26th
January.

There will be a training day at Diamond Light Source on Tuesday 17th February.

A small amount of money is available to cover expenses if they cannot be
covered by your institution - please indicate in your email if you will need to
take advantage of this.

Best wishes
Sam
