Dear all,

I am currently recruiting for a postdoctoral research associate position that
is available in my lab at the Institute for Cell and Molecular Biosciences
(http://www.ncl.ac.uk/camb/), Newcastle UK. The project involves studying the
molecular basis of chromosome synapsis and recombination-mediated crossover
formation during mammalian meiosis as part of a programme of work in the lab
funded by the Wellcome Trust and Royal Society. Our work is principally
focussed on using X-ray crystallography, electron microscopy and biophysical
methods such as SEC-MALS to analyse key protein components of the synaptonemal
complex and their interactions with recombination factors. We also use yeast
two-hybrid and mammalian cell culture, and are engaged in collaborative
research within the institute and worldwide. A PhD in protein biochemistry or
structural biology would be expected. The position is tenable for three years,
with a starting salary of £28,695-£30,434. The closing date for applications is
29th March 2015.

I would be grateful if you could forward this on to anyone who you think may be
interested.

Best wishes,

Owen Davies.
