Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Molecular Modelling and Simulation of
Compensatory Mechanisms in Proteins at Queen Mary University of London
(deadline 30 April 2015)

We wish to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work in the research
group of Dr. Arianna Fornili in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences
at Queen Mary University of London.

The successful candidate will develop and implement a set of computational
tools to identify compensatory mechanisms in proteins and to build a
comprehensive database of rescue mutations. Theoretical methods at different
levels of complexity will be used, ranging from Elastic Network Models to
Molecular Dynamics simulation with atomistic force fields. This appointment is
funded by the BBSRC for 18 months and will be performed in collaboration with
Prof. Franca Fraternali at King’s College London.

Candidates must hold a PhD, or equivalent qualification, in Chemistry,
Biochemistry, Physics, Biophysics, or relevant discipline and have an
established track record of success in high-quality original research. Previous
experience both in molecular simulation of proteins and in programming is
essential.

Closing date of the application: 30 April 2015.
