The ARC Centre of Excellence in Advanced Molecular Imaging is seeking to
appoint a computational Senior Research Officer (Computation) to help boost our
efforts in developing the automation systems of the MX beamlines at the
Australian Synchrotron utilising the Multi-modal Australian Science Imaging and
Visualisation Environment (MASSIVE).
The new automation systems will include new pipelines for data processing,
automated phasing, merging data from multiple crystals, data visualisation and
automated data collection strategies. You will be based at the Australian
Synchrotron and will support users on the MX beamlines while developing the new
automation systems.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
a strong background in programming
a relevant degree in science, engineering or computing
good customer service focus with a 'can do' attitude.
If you have a commitment to excellence in research, including the capacity to
develop and acquire new research techniques with excellent written and verbal
communication skills, we encourage you to apply. Strong collaborative skills
and experience working in a multidisciplinary environment, with the ability to
also work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision, is a must.
A Ph.D is not required but if you have one you may also be appointed as a
Research Fellow (academic Level A) aligned to the faculty most appropriate to
your academic discipline, should your qualifications and experience be in
accordance with the academic award classification for a research fellow.
