I was trying to use wincoot (v0.8.7.1) on my PC (Windows 8.1). Starting Coot
from CCP4 or 'runwincoot.bat' gave me the following error message:
coot-bin.exe Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point deflateSetHeader could not be located in the dynamic
link library C:\WinCoot\bin\libgio-2.0-0.dll.
I then tried 'coot-bin.exe' which gave me a different error (libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll
is missing).
Both files do exist in the bin folder. Re-installing the programme didn't help.
Tried v0.8.6.1 too and had the same problem.
Just wondering if anyone knows what the problem is?
This is a (to me) known problem in recent WinCoot and should be fixed in
the pre-release versions. Anyway, there is an easy fix.
Please move all files found in the directory:
C:\WinCoot\libexec
to the directory:
C:\WinCoot\bin
This should solve your problem. In case it doesnt please get in touch again.
