Postdoctoral Research Associate in Gene Regulation

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual as a Postdoctoral Research 
Associate to join dynamic research group in Oxford to lead a multidisciplinary 
project investigating the role of transcription factors as well as chromatin 
modifying enzymes in gene regulation. The proposed projects will utilize 
state-of-the-art biochemical and structural approaches, combined with the 
functional genome-wide analysis, to understand how transcription of 
protein-coding and non-coding genesis is regulated in yeast and mammalian cells.

Applicants should possess a PhD, or expect to obtain soon, a PhD in a relevant 
subject area, and should have experience in expression and purification of 
recombinant and native protein complexes. Experience with biochemistry is 
essential, as well as excellent communication skills, including the ability to 
write for publication, present research proposals and result. Experience with 
mammalian cell culture and bioinformatics would be advantageous.

This full-time fixed-term post is funded by the Wellcome Trust Senior Research 
Fellowship for up to 1 year in the first instance, and is based at the 
Department of Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QU.

This position is graded on the University's grade 7 scale, for which the salary 
range is £31,076 - £38,183 per annum. The actual starting salary offered will 
be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be 
determined by the funding available.
