Dear All,

I am posting the following information on behalf of Professor Hong Li, IMB,
Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. All inquiries should be sent
directly to her. Thanks.

An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is immediately available in Dr. Hong Li's
laboratory at the Institute of Molecular Biophysics, Florida State University
to study nucleic acids-protein interactions by cryo-electron microscopy
(cryoEM) and other complementary methods. Dr. Li is seeking one candidate with
strong backgrounds in structural biology, especially cryo-EM or X-ray
crystallography.

Dr. Hong Li's laboratory is located in the Institute of Molecular Biophysics at
Florida State University. The laboratory has direct access to a diverse range
of biophysical techniques including cryoEM, NMR, ESR, CD, ITC, Mass
Spectrometry and X-ray crystallography. FSU has recently become the NIH Center
for Electron Microscopy of the southeast region, housing an FEI Titan Krios
microscope equipped with a Phase Plate, a K3 Summit direct electron camera (to
be installed) and High Performance Computing capabilities. For X-ray
diffraction experiments, the laboratory has monthly access to the Advanced
Photon Source SER-CAT beamlines through remote data collection. In addition,
the laboratory is fully equipped to perform molecular cloning, protein
chromatography (Akta-FPLC), and necessary enzymatic assays. The Institute of
Molecular Biophysics has a major focus on structural biology hosting four
cryoEM, two X-ray crystallography, two theoretical computing, and two
spectroscopy groups, which allows anyone within the Institute seamlessly
integrate these structural biology methods.

Tallahassee is the capital for the state of Florida and is about 1.5 hour drive
to the beautiful beaches along the Gulf of Mexico. The capital city also has
variety of music, athletic, theater, and film activities offered by the
world-class teams and the school of music and arts.

The standard NIH annual salary for the postdoctoral fellow starts at $47,659
with full health and retirement benefits that can be increased annually upon
satisfactory evaluation. Interested candidates should send a recent CV, three
names of references to
