Structural Biology lab of Kalyan Das, Rega Institute<https://rega.kuleuven.be/labs> (https://rega.kuleuven.be/labs), KU Leuven<https://www.kuleuven.be/english/research/about_research/index> (https://www.kuleuven.be/english/research/about_research/index), Belgium invites applications from highly motivated researchers interested in perusing carrier in structure-based drug design. The successful candidate will be carrying out structural studies using crystallography and/or single-particle cryo-EM, and will work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
A candidate should have a Ph. D. degree in structural biology, molecular biology, chemical biology, biochemistry, or a related subject. Strong background in molecular cloning, protein expression systems, and protein purification is essential. Structural studies by X-ray crystallography and/or single particle cryo-EM experience is desirable. A qualified person should be a team player, and should have strong writing and verbal communication skills. The lab is equipped with Akta Pure, Wyatt miniDAWN TREOS and DynoPro NanoStar, GelDoc EZ, TTP mosquito crystallization robot with LCP dispenser and humidity chamber, JANSi UVEX microscope + cytomat II for robotic screening of crystallization plates under UV and bright field, Leica EM GP, GPU workstations etc. Rega Institute/KU Leuven provides a unique multi-disciplinary translational research platform, expertise and cutting-edge research facilities for drug discovery. Interested candidates are encouraged to email their resume, list of publications, and names and addresses of three referees to Kalyan Das (E-mail: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>), Professor, Division of Virology and Chemotherapy, Rega Institute.
