DearAll, Afully-funded Postdoc position is available in the Pasteur Institute, in Paris. Our goal is to study the structure and function of a new class of DNApolymerases involved in DNA replication, and decipher the molecular mechanismsthey evolved to efficiently replicate DNA in molecular machines (replisomes). This integrated structural study will use primarily Cryo-EM approaches.
TheUnit for Structural Dynamics of Macromolecules at the Pasteur Institute is awell published and highly dynamic research environment that applies amultidisciplinary research strategy including structural biology, biochemistry, and biophysics to address fundamental questions about the molecular mechanismsof DNA replication. The laboratory is situated at the Pasteur Institute inParis that has an outstanding range of facilities and instrumentation, including a state-of-the-art Titan Kryos equipped with a K3 camera, a F20(200kV) microscope equipped with a Falcon 2 camera, and two T12 (120 kV)microscopes. Additional resources for specimen preparation and image processingare in place. Applicantsshould hold a PhD in the area of structural biology, biochemistry, or molecularbiology. Experience in cryo-electron microscopy, and data processing would be aplus, but not an absolute pre-requisite.
