Dear All,

We have three positions available for membrane protein structural biologists at
the SGC in Oxford in Prof. Liz Carpenter's lab:

1. Membrane protein structural biology, pipeline and methods development
position (closing date 23rd August)

2. Structural biology of human ion channels and ABC transporters (closing
date 23rd August)

3. Structural biology of human ion channels, as part of a collaboration
with Pharma (closing date 13th August)

The third post would involve work both in Oxford and Biberach in Germany

The group studies human integral membrane proteins involved in genetic disease.
We work with geneticists to identify genes that are involved in
neuropsychiatry, cancer, rare and metabolic disease and inflammatory diseases.
We aim to produce protein, assays and structures, as well as small molecule
and protein binders. Through this work we aim to understand the role of these
proteins in disease and thus promote the development of novel therapies.
We use both crystallography and electron cryo-microscopy for structure
determination. The SGC and the University of Oxford provide an excellent
working environment, with access to world class facilities for all structural
biology, biochemical and biophysical studies.
