*Postdoctoral Associate Position at Cornell University in Biomolecular
Small-Angle X-ray Scattering and X-ray Crystallography*

One or two postdoctoral positions are available in small-angle x-ray
scattering and x-ray crystallography of biomolecules in the group of Prof.
Robert Thorne in the Physics Department at Cornell University (
www.lassp.cornell.edu/Thorne/). The focus of the work will be on
developing and applying new experimental, analysis, and modeling methods
for high-throughput cryogenic temperature SAXS and for high-throughput
variable temperature crystallography. The work may involve protein
expression and purification, X-ray data collection (at CHESS, APS, or
NSLS), laboratory-based experiments, analysis method development, and
modeling, as well as CAD design, microfabrication, and hardware fabrication
and assembly, depending upon the skills and interests of the successful
applicant(s) Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Biophysics, Physics,
Chemistry, Biochemistry or related fields. Relevant areas of experience
include bioSAXS data collection, analysis and modeling; X-ray
crystallography and crystallographic refinement; protein expression,
purification, and crystallization; and laboratory apparatus design,
machining, and assembly; and microfabrication.

The initial Postdoctoral Associate appointment will be for one year, with
the expectation for renewal for at least one additional year. Start dates
are flexible, and can be as early as March 2019.

Application material should be submitted to [email protected]
<http://[email protected]%20/>. Complete applications will include a brief
cover letter, a CV, a detailed summary of research experience and
interests, and three letters of recommendation. Recommendation letters, if
not initially provided, will be requested after application screening.
