1. Staff Scientist position
=================================================================================
We are looking for a Scientist to lead a structure determination pipeline as
part of a collaborative project between the labs of David Baker
(HHMI/University of Washington; https://www.bakerlab.org
<https://www.bakerlab.org/> ) and Gira Bhabha & Damian Ekiert (NYU School of
Medicine; http://bhabhaekiertlab.org <http://bhabhaekiertlab.org/> ). The
primary role of this Scientist will be to use X-ray crystallography to
determine the structures of computationally designed proteins, protein-ligand,
and protein-protein complexes in order to experimentally assess how well
computationally designed proteins match their target structure. This work will
enable the creation of proteins with unique properties that have broad
applications in medicine, biotechnology, and industry. For some examples of
past collaborative work, see:
- Brunette, et al. Nature. 2015 528:580-4
- Fleishman, et al. Science. 2011 332:816-21.

Location: Manhattan, New York City @ NYU School of Medicine

Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field
- Extensive experience in X-ray crystallography
- Ability and desire to teach and mentor junior scientists
- Ability and willingness to learn to troubleshoot X-ray crystallography
equipment such as Rock Imagers, Mosquito etc.
- Very organized
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent digital record-keeping skills
