Dear colleagues, We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated postdoctoral candidate to lead a project combining biochemistry and cryoEM in my group. The main goal is the structure-function study of protein-DNA complexes involved in DNA repair after the break generated by CRISPR-Cas effector complexes. The ideal candidate for this project would be a structural biologist with experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and cryoEM and/or crystallographic expertise. The position is funded through an NNF distinguished investigator grant. Our programme (https://www.cpr.ku.dk/research/protein-structure-function-program/) provides the state-of-the art infrastructure and instrumentation including a Titan Krios TEM and a Glacios equipped with direct electron detectors and 3 auxiliary TEMs for sample characterisation. The program also coordinates the Center´s protein production, molecular biophysics and crystallization platforms. The selected person will benefit from an intellectually stimulating, supportive and collaborative environment, including access to soft skills workshops run by our center and the University of Copenhagen (project writing courses, career development and leadership workshops), and a range of enabling core facilities in the centre including crystallisation, protein production, state-of-the-art biophysics, high performance computing, bioinformatics, and mass spectrometry The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (https://www.cpr.ku.dk/) was established in 2007 at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, to promote basic and applied research.
