A postdoctoral position is available to work on the structural & functional
studies of molecular chaperones in the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular
Biology of Eukaryotes (LBMCE) in Paris, France.
Our laboratory is looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow with a
background and experience in biochemistry and structural biology. Our team is
interested in the mechanisms of action of molecular chaperones during protein
folding, assembly and translocation. The lab projects combine structural
techniques with functional approaches for the study these chaperone-dependent
phenomena using biochemistry, biophysics and X-ray crystallography.

The project involves molecular biology, protein biochemistry and structural
approaches by X-ray crystallography and/or Cryo-EM. The work will be carried
out within the "Molecular Chaperones" team at the LBMCE belonging to the CNRS &
Sorbonne University (http://www.lbmce.ibpc.fr <http://www.lbmce.ibpc.fr/>) and
situated in the Institute of Physico-Chemical Biology (IBPC) in Paris. The
institute is fully equipped with state of the art technological platforms in
crystallography, NMR, mass spectrometry, visualization wall and bioinformatics
and as funding member of the CACSICE centrer it has privileged access to its
facilities (http://aria.pasteur.fr/cacsice <http://aria.pasteur.fr/cacsice>).

The IBPC, created in 1930 by the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation, has a
multidisciplinary vocation to promote research in all fields of biology and
offers an exceptional scientific environment open to all disciplines. It has a
highly dynamic social and scientific environment and benefits from a location
in the heart of Paris, in the student district (Latin Quarter) and the Montagne
Sainte-Geneviève hosting the largest concentration of research institutions in
the city.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in biochemistry or structural biology
with a demonstrated track record of productive research, and be able to work
independently. Previous experience in protein production and X-ray
crystallography is highly desirable and experience in cryoEM would constitute
an advantage.

The position opens in December 2020 and will be funded for up to two years.

Applications including a cover letter, CV, and the email addresses of two to
three references should be made online on the CNRS employment website:
