3-year Post-doctoral position in the Cherfils lab, ENS Paris-Saclay FRANCE The group: The Structural Biology of Small GTPases group has a long-standing expertise in the biochemistry and structural biology of Ras-like small GTPases. Our aim is to understand the molecular reactions that govern the functions of small GTPases in cellular traffic and cytoskeleton dynamics in normal cells and in diseases, and to apply this knowledge to establish new concepts in drug discovery. Our team is located in the multidisciplinary environment of the new Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay Campus, which is easily accessible from Paris by public transportation. The project: This project aims at understanding the collective behavior of small GTPases and their regulators as they assemble signaling modules at the surface of membranes. It combines structural biology, reconstitution of macromolecular complexes in artificial membranes, activity analysis using biophysical methods, and imaging using TIRF microscopy. The project offers a variety of integrative structural biology approaches and benefits from established collaborations. The candidate: We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow with a strong background in protein biochemistry. Experience in protein-membrane interaction methods, TIRF and/or structural biology will be a plus. The candidate should have good communication skills and appreciate teamwork. The position: The position is funded for 3 years by the ANR and the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale and is available immediately.
