Does anyone know if there is a way of showing if a chiral compound is R or S configuration in Coot?  It would be nice to not resort to thumbs while modelling!

Coot does not show you if your chiral compound is R or S. The closest it gets is the consistency of chiral centres with the dictionary. Validate -> Validation Outliers will show chiral volume outliers (amongst other things).
