The 71th annual meeting of the American Crystallographic Association Annual
Meeting will be held virtually from July 30-August 5, 2021.

A session on the Structural Biology of Infectious Diseases will be held on
Tuesday, August 3.

We invite scientists to submit abstracts for oral presentations in the session.
Topics can include a variety of subjects such as structural studies of
pathogenic, viral or bacterial proteins, macromolecular complexes, and
structure-based drug design and vaccine development. Studies using a variety of
structural and complimentary methods are welcome.

We also encourage early career scientists such as postdoctoral fellows,
graduate students, and undergraduates to submit abstracts for an oral
presentation. This is an excellent opportunity to present your research to the
structural science community and to interact with leading scientists in the
field.

Abstract submission deadline is this SUNDAY, May 23, 2021.

Abstracts may be submitted online:

4.1.5 Structural Biology of Infectious Diseases
Tuesday, 8/3/2021 @ 12-3 PM EDT
Sponsoring SIG: Biological Macromolecules
Co-Sponsoring SIGs: Cryo-EM and Industrial

This session will focus on the structural basis of host–pathogen interactions
and the application of structural biology to combat infectious diseases.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to, structural studies on viral,
bacterial, and fungal proteins and their mechanisms of action or interactions
with host cell molecules, receptors, and antibodies. Structure-based vaccine
and antibody development is also of interest.
