All,

The next run will start in Feb 2022, and we wanted to remind the community that
we accept General User proposals for beamtime at NE-CAT at the APS.

To gain time at NE-CAT, you will need to take a few steps such as registering
with the APS (if you haven’t previously done so), submitting a General User
Proposal and if you want to discuss scheduling options reaching out to us at
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>.

Information on registering as a user can be found here:
https://necat.chem.cornell.edu/register
Information on submitting a General User Proposal can be found here:

We have two beamlines available. The 24-ID-C beamline is a variable-energy
beamline providing x-rays from 6.5 to 20 keV. The 24-ID-E beamline is a
fixed-energy microdiffraction beamline providing x-rays at 12.66 keV. For more
information on each of the beamlines please refer to our website:
https://necat.chem.cornell.edu/overview

We will begin scheduling General Users in mid-January or you can reach out as
the need arises and we will fit you into the schedule! We do have waiting
lists if you have a quick need and are willing to jump on when time opens up.
We do prefer to save these for people who have at least one trip under their
belt for training purposes.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!

Cyndi Salbego
Administrator, NE-CAT
