Dear CCP4 community

please, note these PhD opportunities at the University of Newcastle and
Durham University in the joint Centre for Doctoral Training "Molecular Sciences
for Medicine". We offer a highly interdisciplinary training program with a
number of projects focused on structural biology. General information on the
program can be found here:

https://research.ncl.ac.uk/mosmed/

with a list of 15 PhD positions here:

https://research.ncl.ac.uk/mosmed/phdstudentships/

Projects with particular emphasis on structural biology include:

Neural networks for modelling protein conformational space: Application to
inhibitor design exploiting an enzyme’s mobile regulatory element 0 led by Dr.
Daniel Cole (Newcastle)

A novel drug discovery workflow combining DNA-encoded library, AI machine
learning, and cryo-electron microscopy - led by Prof. Wyatt Yue (Newcastle)

Natural Products, Synthetic Biology and the Formulation of Novel Antimicrobials
- led by Prof. Paul Denny (Durham)

New methods for scaled synthesis of nucleoside 5’-triphosphates and their
application in gene synthesis - led by Dr. David Hodgson (Durham).

The posts are open to applicants worldwide. I am happy to answer any (informal)
questions.
