Dear all We would like to inform you that the next deadline for NEW BAG application for the new ID29 serial crystallography beamline is on *1 March 2023*. NB No action is needed from already running BAG proposals at this time.
Proposals can be submitted via the ESRF User portal (https://smis.esrf.fr) The new ID29 is equipped with the newly developed MD3upSSX diffractometer - to perform fast fixed target and foils data collection on solid supports and can accommodate other sample delivery methods, such as high viscosity extruders and other types of injectors, available at the beamline or supplied by users - and with a Jungfrau 4M detector that runs at the maximum repetition rate of 925 hz. It currently offers a photon flux of > 10^15 ph/s in 1% bandwidth on a 2 um beam spot size. The shortest exposure time is 80 us and commissioning is underway to reduce this to 10 us. A fully tunable nanosecond laser is currently under commissioning and will be available for pump&probe experiment later this year. More information on the BAG application are available here <https://www.esrf.fr/UsersAndScience/UserGuide/Applying/ProposalGuidelines/BAGProposal> and on ID29 here <https://www.esrf.fr/id29>, while sneak peek from the first users experiments from last fall is available here https://youtu.be/id13FxU0IUE Feel free to contact Daniele de Sanctis <[email protected]> or Shibom Basu <[email protected]> for more information or questions.
