Dear Colleagues,
the ESRF, Grenoble is opening a new cryo EM service to include
cryo-electron tomography experiments at its cryo-EM facility, CM01.
In CM01, both cellular and macromolecular cryo-electron tomography will
be performed for users’ samples. Applications can be made through the
ESRF User Portal (SMIS) <https://smis.esrf.fr>. The type of proposal is
a structural biology rolling-access application
<https://www.esrf.fr/UsersAndScience/UserGuide/Applying/ProposalGuidelines/MXRollingCryoEM#>,
which can be submitted at any time during the year. For accepted
proposals from ESRF member and associate countries
<https://www.esrf.fr/about/organisation/members-and-associates>, 48hours
of beam time is allotted and travel expenses will be reimbursed for a
maximum of two visitors per experiment or one dewar and one visitor. The
microscope time is free for non-member nations, but users are
responsible for their own shipping and travel costs.
For cellular cryo-ET, currently only BSL1 samples under French
Regulations and inactivated BSL2 samples are accepted.
