*Research Scientist in Protein Crystallography at ALPX*
*Position description:*
ALPX is an EMBL Spin-off Company located in Grenoble, France. We offer
innovative research services based on the CrystalDirect technology for
structural biology and small-molecule drug discovery to the
pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
We seek a highly motivated Research Scientist to join the ALPX team.
The successful candidate will be contributing to a range of exciting
structural biology/drug discovery projects, applying our
high-throughput, automated X-ray crystallography pipelines.
Responsibilities include project management, high-quality structure
elucidation and interpretation of biological macromolecules in complexes
with small molecules of interest and preparing presentations on the
structural data for project team and clients.
*Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:*
•Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, biophysics, or a related field
•Postdoc experience
•Demonstrated extensive experience in macromolecular crystallography,
including crystallisation, crystal optimisation, structure solution, and
manual refinement, including ligand fitting
•Excellent and creative project management skills
•Strong oral and written communication and organisation skills
•Excellent writing and speaking English
•Effective interaction in a dynamic team environment
*Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:*
•Experience in Industry/CRO
•Experience with LCP crystallisation and membrane proteins
•Confidence in the use of synchrotron beamlines for structural biology
•Experience using robotics and automation
•Scripting and programming
*The position is permanent and immediately available. Deadline for
