Dear members of the structural biology community,

I am looking for postdoctoral researchers and would be grateful if you could
bring the following position to the attention of potential candidates.

Thanks, Albert

Postdoc positions in the laboratory of Albert Weixlbaumer available at the
IGBMC in Strasbourg, France.

We are inviting applications for several postdoc positions, which are
immediately available in the laboratory of Albert Weixlbaumer, PI in the
Department of Integrated Structural Biology, at the Institute of Genetics and
Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC), in Strasbourg, France.
The postdoc positions are funded through the Chair of Excellency program of the
French government, which provides stable funding for 5 years to address
challenging topics in the life sciences. The successful candidate will study
the coupling of transcription and pre-mRNA splicing using a combination of
biochemical and biophysical techniques in a close collaboration with the group
of Clément Charenton (also IGBMC). To gain detailed mechanistic insights, you
will study complexes of RNA polymerase II and a spliceosome assembling on the
nascent pre-mRNA in physiological conditions. Structural insights will be
gained using mass spectrometry and single particle cryo-EM. We have frequent
access to a Glacios and several Titan KRIOS instruments equipped with the
latest detectors. Technology platforms at the institute will support your
project in every aspect (Molecular Biology, Cell culture, Biophysics,
Structural Biology) and training on every aspect can be obtained within the
team but also through experienced staff scientists. Further information can be
found here:

Highly motivated candidates with PhD degrees in structural biology, chemical
biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related fields are encouraged to
apply. Although not strictly required, preference will be given to candidates
with prior experience in single particle Cryo-EM or X-ray crystallography.
Applications including a cover letter outlining research interests, CV, list of
publications, and names of three references should be sent via e-mail to Albert
Weixlbaumer: [email protected]

Applications will be reviewed starting from the middle of September but
positions are open until suitable candidates have been found.
