The Du Lab and Lü Lab at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) are jointly seeking a full-time Research Technician to contribute to collaborative projects exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying how the human body senses and responds to stimuli such as taste and temperature. This position offers hands-on training in advanced molecular and biochemical techniques and an excellent opportunity to gain research experience in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities · Maintain mammalian and insect cell lines · Perform molecular cloning · Conduct small-scale protein expression screening using transient transfection and fluorescence-detection size-exclusion chromatography (FSEC) · Generate baculoviruses · Carry out large-scale protein expression in mammalian or insect cells · Assist with general laboratory organization and maintenance Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, such as biochemistry, molecular biology, or cell biology · Prior laboratory experience in a wet lab setting · Strong motivation and curiosity about basic biological mechanisms and their biomedical relevance · Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow established protocols · Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills For further information about our labs and ongoing projects, please visit our lab website: https://dululabs.com.
