Dear all,

A postdoctoral position with a FAPESP fellowship is available for research
on the determination of three-dimensional structures of luciferases and
photoproteins, within the FAPESP Thematic Project “Bioluminescence:
biodiversity; metabolic origin; structure/function and engineering of
luciferases; applications in biosensors, bioassays and environmental
bioindication”.

Applicants should have experience in at least one of the following areas:
macromolecular X-ray crystallography, heterologous protein expression and
purification, or biophysical techniques applied to protein
structure–function studies. Previous experience or interest in
computational approaches to protein structure and function will be
considered an advantage.

The project will be carried out at the Institute of Physics, University of
São Paulo (IF-USP, Brazil), under the supervision of Atílio Tomazini Jr
(IF-USP) and Vadim Viviani (Federal University of São Carlos), and involves
activities and mobility between IF-USP, CNPEM (Campinas) and UFSCar
(Sorocaba).

The position is open to Brazilian and international candidates who obtained
their PhD within the last seven years. The selection process will take
place between January 6 and January 31, 2026, with an immediate start
preferred.

Interested candidates should send, in PDF format, a motivation letter, a CV
(or FAPESP CV summary), and a copy of the PhD thesis to
[email protected], with a copy to [email protected].

Best regards,
Atílio Tomazini Jr
