We would once again like to take the opportunity to invite you to the 27th Congress and General Assembly of the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr), to be held in Calgary, Canada, from 11th–18th August 2026, (see link below). In particular we would like to highlight the ongoing developments in MicroED and electron diffraction, which will be discussed in Microsymposium MS100 “Small molecule structure determination by electron diffraction”, as well as in several neighboring symposia. The uptake and applications of MicroED and newer techniques in electron diffraction continue to expand, and lessons are learned from their practice, so it is of great interest and benefit to the entire field that the collected experiences are well represented at this stage. We would therefore like to encourage everyone who has ventured into this area to consider presenting their results in this and related sessions, for the benefit of future users.
