Dear colleagues,

A postdoctoral position funded by FAPESP is available at the Laboratory of
Biochemistry and Bioluminescent System Technologies (UFSCar, Sorocaba
campus) to work on the project "Development of temperature- and pH-sensing
bioluminescent proteins and reporter genes for bioimaging," under the
supervision of Prof. Vadim Viviani. The project is part of the FAPESP
Thematic Grant "Bioluminescence: biodiversity; metabolic origin;
structure/function and engineering of luciferases; applications in
biosensors, bioassays, and environmental bioindication." The project
involves engineering bioluminescent proteins for use as intracellular
temperature and pH sensors. Candidates must have proven experience in
rational protein design, molecular biology, heterologous expression and
purification of luciferases, bioluminescent enzyme assays, and random and
site-directed mutagenesis techniques. Fieldwork experience is desirable.
Candidates must have defended their doctoral thesis within the last two
years. The selection process will take place between August 1 and August
30, 2026, and will consist of an evaluation of the CV, documented
experience, and alignment with the aforementioned projects. Expected start
date: September 2026. Interested candidates should submit a CV (FAPESP
format), a link to their Lattes CV, key articles in the relevant field, and
a copy of their doctoral thesis to Vadim Viviani (Email: [email protected]).
