Dear community, Sorry for this slightly off-topic (perhaps) question. We are in the process of procuring a single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) system for our Institute, and I would greatly appreciate your opinions and suggestions regarding the most suitable X-ray source and accessories for handling a broad range of crystal types, including macromolecules, small molecules (simple organic and metallo-organic compounds), supramolecular systems, MOFs, and COFs.
We are considering a dual-wavelength system equipped with both Cu and Mo X-ray sources. *However, we would particularly appreciate a comparison between sealed-tube and rotating-anode X-ray sources in terms of their practical performance and suitability for these applications*. I would be especially interested in hearing about your experiences with both types of sources, particularly for weakly diffracting macromolecular crystals, small MOF/COF crystals versus crystals of small organic and metallo-organic molecules. Any practical experiences, recommendations, or points that we should consider before making the procurement decision would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions!
