The Hoelz laboratory at the California Institute of Technology seeks to recruit
an outstanding postdoctoral scientist in structural cell biology. Our
laboratory studies the nuclear pore complex and the associated
nucleocytoplasmic transport machinery, combining X-ray crystallography,
single-particle cryo-electron microscopy, biochemistry, and biophysical studies
with cell biology experiments to relate structure to function.

This position requires a recent Ph.D. in biochemistry or biophysics with a
strong background in biochemistry, X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron
microscopy/tomography, and/or cell biology. The successful candidate will be a
highly motivated individual with excellent organizational, communication, and
interpersonal skills and a proven track record of scientific excellence and
productivity, as demonstrated by a strong publication record that includes
first-author publications.

The laboratory is well funded and equipped with modern instrumentation.
Importantly, Caltech has exceptional infrastructure for structural biology.

The position is available immediately and is fully funded for multiple years.

To apply, please send your CV, a statement of research interests, and the names
and contact information of at least three references to André Hoelz
([email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>).
