If he comes up with his own name, then there is nothing stopping him from putting it together completely independently. If he wants to use the VCF name, then he should talk tothose currently doing it.

It is a trademark, but I have no idea what the terms are. Evan? did not apparently have much difficulty negotiating with Sellam to use the trademark.
